Sweet Bread

I have baked this sweet bread for Easter, and it was delicious. It looked pretty nice too so I have decided to take also some pictures of it. For the photo above I've used a kitchen napkin and baking paper as props. I find that baking paper looks really good in food photography, I tend to use it a lot when I can't decide on a serving plate. 

For the picture below I've used again the trick with several plates/trays, in this case I have placed the sweet bread in two loaf pans, and I have also replaced the baking paper, the one that I have actually used for baking the bread turned yellow at the corners. Also, I have put some paper towel under the bread, to lift it up a little bit. 

I have added the honey only for the picture, the bread was sweet enough without it :)

Cake

I "pimped up" this cake:) Put some Nutella on top and sprinkled it with powdered sugar. It was delicious without these adjustments, but I felt that the picture needed something more, hence the chocolate and sugar. I also took this photo in the hallway, where I have light coming in from the north. It wasn't a direct light though, my curtain serves as a light diffuser.

The settings, for the picture above, are:

Exposure: 0.5s at f/3.2
ISO: 100

Cookies

Cookies, always fun to photograph :) I noticed that most of my cookie pictures have one thing in common, the sweets are all stacked on top of each other, I guess it gives the pic some depth or I just like it that way.

Semolina Pudding

I made some creamy semolina pudding, poured it in some small ramekin and left it overnight in the fridge. The next day I took out the pudding from the forms. It is not difficult, you just have to shake the ramekin a little bit and the pudding slides out nicely. I decorated it with some sweet strawberry jam, delicious :)

To be able to pour the jam and take the picture at the same time, I had to use the trigger, and obviously, I had to crop out my fingers from the photo in the editing process.

I used to set the white balance before the  beginning of a photo shooting, but now I just leave it on auto and change the temperature of the photo from Lightroom. I use natural lighting and every time I take photos the sun keeps hiding between the clouds and it is really annoying to have to set the white balance over and over again so I just leave it on auto mode.
